People say the nicest things...
I adopted my best friend for life from Durango Animal Connection in July of 2020 and it was the best decision I have ever made. It has truly been a pleasure getting to know Erin over the last couple of years and experiencing firsthand the joy and care she takes for each and every critter that she takes in. Her passion for creating better lives for these animals really shines through in everything she does. Erin made the adoption process so easy and exciting! She was very thorough in answering all of my questions and she really helped me to picture what life would be like with my new dog before I adopted him. You can tell she truly cares about facilitating a strong bond and she strives to find the best fit for both animal and owner. She was very communicative throughout the whole process and continued to check in with me afterwards to see how things were going which was something that I really appreciated. I have so much love and admiration for Durango Animal Connection and all of the work that has been done within our community to help provide for these animals who may otherwise have not had a chance.

Erin and her family at Durango Animal Connection were wonderful to adopt from. It was evident from the second I met Erin, how much knowledge and care she had for all her animals, most especially the really scared and shy ones. She helped us make sure our pup was a good fit and allowed us to visit multiple times until he was old enough to take home. She also regularly followed up with us to see how things were going. Rio is now 3 and I still keep in touch with Erin and the people who adopted Rios' 3 other siblings who are scattered around the country! I am currently at my 3 dog capacity limit but regularly point friends and family looking for a furry family member toward Durango Animal Connection. Thank you Erin for my sweet, four legged friend. I can't imagine life without him!

Erin and her non-profit, Durango Animal Connection, are the tops in rescue, foster and adoption. Our family was fortunate to meet with Erin last April. We’ve always adopted from a rescue or humane society so this was a local option that we were thankful to find. Our pup, first named Sandy, was discovered along with her sister under a trailer in Aztec. Fortunately for these two little puppies, they found their way into Erin’s care. We applied to adopt and spoke with Erin several times -- who in turn, checked our references and spoke with our veterinarian for additional info, and then we met the newest member of our family, Darla. We fell in love and Darla has easily settled in with our two older dogs and our whole family! We are eternally grateful for the love, time, energy and care you shower on all the animals you rescue and most especially, for our girl, Darla.

Our last two dog family members came to us through Durango Animal Connection. Erin made it easy for us to do the right thing and adopt a rescue pup (or two). She was completely honest, and thorough, explaining the background and condition of each dog. This allowed us to hit the ground running with training, and complete care. The love we have received from Joy & ScooterBaby (Noodle) is beyond measurement. The next time we are looking for a Dog Family member, we will look to DAC first!

I have been following Erin at Durango Animal Connection on social media for almost a year now, as well as having several phone conversations with her. I was interested in a couple of her rescues and finally did adopt one. She seems to truly care for each individual animal she shelters, along with having an uncanny intuition about placement. Erin communicates well and shared the particulars of the pet I was interested in adopting. It feels as if she has an understanding of each animal she works with and genuinely cares about them. The work she does is absolutely necessary and critical. She does it well and with a very big heart.

We've adopted our two beloved pups, Crockett and Millie Mae, from Durango Animal Connection. They are a perfect match for each other and fit perfectly in our hearts. Quite simply, our lives would not be complete without Erin's incredibly important work. She is thorough and detailed-oriented and has a huge heart. She is truly a hero for homeless animals in the Four Corners area. And, although our own household is now at maximum 4-legged capacity, we still love to witness and celebrate all the happy adoptions that continue with this exceptional foster organization."
